We would like to kindly invite you to participate in the annual Continental
Conference of Kolping Youth Europe which is going to take place in Lamego,
Portugal, from 29th to 31st May 2026. We are very happy to organize the event
at the same time as the Continental Assembly of Kolping Europe, which gives
us a great opportunity to collaborate on topics and spend time together.
The Peace Hike was initiated in 1968 by the Swiss Central President, Josef Eberli. Its aim was to promote international understanding after the Second World War. Since then, Kolping members from various countries have met to hike, pray, and talk together – as a sign of solidarity and commitment to peace.

The annual Continental Conference of Kolping Youth Europe will take place in Lamego (Portugal) from 29th to 31st of May 2026. Each country is invited to send two delegates that represent their Kolping Youth at European level, discuss with delegates from other countries and vote about the future of Kolping Youth Europe.
The event will take place at the same time as the Continental Assembly of Kolping Europe, which gives us a great opportunity to collaborate on topics and spend time together.
When young people get together, amazing things can happen. That is definitely the case with Kolping European Youth Week. In a world where everyone seems to be thinking solely of themselves, Kolping demonstrates that the fight for the common good has not yet come to an end. In the words of Adolph Kolping, “The human life cannot exist without joy, without fun, least of all during youth. Thus joy and fun deserve an essential place in community life.”

In May 2025, the Continental Conference of Kolping Youth Europe and the Continental Assembly of Kolping Europe took place in the vibrant context of the 175th anniversary celebration of Kolping Germany. During this gathering the new Board of Kolping Youth Europe was elected – a powerful sign that Kolping is thriving!
